The Olympic Games came just in time
To give us a break from campaign slime.
Now we can focus on a gymnastic session,
Instead of wallowing in campaign depression.
It doesn't take a great deal of common sense
To watch Phelps and Biles instead of Pence,
And it's more fun to read about a record dash,
Than Fat Cats pouring in more campaign cash.
Who wouldn't rather hear our athletes panting,
Than The Donald Trump raving and ranting.
